We spoke to Rob Hackles, founder of RJH Personnel about working with Zoo – and what’s special about the ‘Zebra Cross Inn’!
From day 1, the RJH Personnel goal has always been to be at the forefront of providing a complete recruitment experience, supporting businesses, candidates and colleagues.

How/why did you start working with Zoo?
When I decided to go it alone, and I started looking for an accountant, I got introduced to Wayne. I spoke to him on the phone and I told him my ambitions and business goals, which he listened to attentively. Then he sent me this absolutely fantastic proposal…It made me think ‘I want to work with these people’ – and it was probably the best decision I ever made.
In setting the business up before the pandemic, they were so attentive to every detail. They were there for me – I could ring them up and ask questions. They’ve been a breath of fresh air. I trust everything they say and it’s even given me the confidence to set up another business.
What else have they supported you with?
Wayne and Zeta are always on hand and I regularly meet with them and discuss things about how the business is going…they’re a great sounding board.
They’re very good at making sure your needs are met, whether it’s by them or knowing someone that can help you. If I need something, I know I can just pick up the phone to them. Glen’s always on hand too, and all the team in the office are always really helpful. It just works really well.
What do Zoo do for you?
They do my annual accounting and they process the payroll. I pay the wages out but as we grow as a business, I‘ll be giving them access to my bank to look after the wages. And when invoices are coming in to be paid, I’ll be giving that to them too.
They’ll operate as the back-office function for the business…Working with them has given me guidance on business operations too.
For you, what are the three key benefits of using Zoo?
- Peace of mind – that I can get on and do what I’m good at.
- Confidence in their operations – and in completing the tasks that they need to from both a legal and a day-to-day running of the business standpoint.
- They’re friendly – they’ve integrated into our business and it feels like they’re part of my team. I can always pick up the phone to them and if Wayne’s not available, he’ll always come back to me. It’s the same with Zeta and Glen.
How has using Zoo helped your business?
Using Zoo has meant that we’ve grown rapidly. I’ve gone from my bedroom a year ago to having an office with three people working for me and looking for one more.
The growth for us as a business has been phenomenal and they’ve given me the tools to be able to get on, do what we do, grow my business and not worry about bits that are really actually imperative to your business.
Is there anything else you’d like to say about Zoo?
If you’re looking for an accountant, I’d 100%, well 1000% recommend Zoo Accounting Warwickshire because they’ve been fantastic. Without them, prior to the pandemic, I don’t think I’d still have a business now because they’re always there and they’re always interested in what’s going on in the business.
They’re happy to see me do well and I’m sure they’re happy to see all their clients do well. As I said, it’s a breath of fresh air, they’re really easy-going and they’re great to get on with… They’re just normal happy people who get the job done properly.
